Mori Seiki SV500 4-axis VMC
     This high performance VMC (Vertical Machining Center) is one of nine CNC machines at Callies. Every Callies crankshaft is processed through these mills, from our DragonSlayer line to the rule setting Magnum XL.
Callies utilizes CAM (Computer Aided Manufacturing) software to intricately shape each crankshaft for reduced weight and precise counterweight location. The result; a better-looking, more consistent product for our customer.

Naxos Orbital Pin Grinder
    Callies’ orbital pin grinder utilizes the latest in grinding and CNC technology to finish grind crankshafts. The grinding wheel produces a thin layer of compressive stresses on the journal diameters, resulting in a stronger crankshaft.

This CNC technology enables Callies to control the geometry of the journals more accurately than older conventional grinding styles. The stroke and index tolerances are cut in half. Other characteristics; such as parallelism of the rods to the mains, roundness, and lobing, are held to tighter tolerances. This results in a longer lasting, far superior crankshaft.

Naxos Orbital Pin Grinder
